The Scioto Model A Ford Club

Welcome

The Scioto Model 'A' Ford Club, based in the Columbus, Ohio area, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the Model 'A' Ford automobile. Club members meet the first Wednesday of each month for a "Tech Meet" and an official business meeting. The monthly gathering is held at various locations, most often at Club member's homes or at Jake Massie's shop in Hilliard.

A newsletter, The Scuttlebutt, is published each month by the secretary and forwarded to all current members. The Scuttlebutt lists each event scheduled for the month, its location and maps for directions. Upcoming events and other information pertinent to the membership are also included.

A Family Meet may be scheduled on the third weekend, usually Sunday, of each month February through November. This may be a picnic, potluck, tour, or some other special event planned by the Club officers.

Each year, the Club considers a fund raising event. December is the Club's annual Christmas Party held at a local restaurant. Members who have attended twelve Tech/Family meetings during the year are invited to attend the Christmas party free at the Club's expense (provided adequate funds are available in the treasury).

Club Points are obtained through attending "Tech/Family Meets" and any other events the Club designates during the year. These may be car shows, tours, parades or overnight trips. Also, points can be earned by hosting a meeting or winning a first, second, or third place in a car show. The points leader is recognized at the annual Christmas Party and receives paid dues for the following year. The purpose is to increase your participation in all of our events along with your knowledge of, and pleasure in owning your Model 'A' Ford or other antique car.

New Members are always welcome and may contact any current member for information on the next scheduled meeting. Annual dues are only $20.00. Potential members should feel free to attend a Club Tech Meeting as our guest. Ownership of a Model 'A' Ford is not essential to becoming a member of the Club, only an interest in this fine automobile, "Henry's Lady". For further information, contact the club's Secretary, Ellis Kauffman, at 614.882.3727.
